Blythe Does Fashion-y Stuff

Hello there! My name is Blythe. I've started this blog as, well, basically a narcissistic photo dump. I'm disabled, and so I don't get out much--no one takes pictures of me, so I have to take them of myself. This blog will consist of pictures of outfits that I am fond of. Updates will be infrequent, I'll warn you, because I don't get to dress up nearly as much as I'd like. My main blog is aceprouvaire, and my health blog is littleteapotsie.

13. Feeling a little cultish!  Create a cult party inspired outfit.
See I feel like this outfit doesn’t work so well because I had a totally epic one planned out but then couldn’t find the two main components.  Moving sucks, dear readers, and I may have to go on a hiatus once my closet has dwindled to like three pairs of shorts and an assortment of nerdy T-shirts.
I wish my makeup showed up under my glasses because it looked super rad but it doesn’t and I had to wash it off immediately.  (Don’t put blush on your eyelids, kids.)  Apparently a big part of cult party style is wearing makeup that makes you look sick and sad.  Which was a novel experience since I sometimes (mostly) wear makeup to NOT look sick and sad.  Hey, I may hate patriarchal/ableist beauty norms as much as your next feminist but sometimes a girl wants to look like she doesn’t have to drug herself with addictive painkillers to get a good night’s rest.  Also, sparkly hot pink blush is fun.

[One image of a young woman (me) with short, dark purple hair, standing in front of a stucco-ish wall.  I am wearing a cream-colored lace tank top under a flowy white vest.  The vest is fastened at the top with a cream-colored fabric flower/pom-pom thing.  On the bottom, I am wearing flowy white shorts with a jellybean print on them.  My hair is up in a red-and-white gingham print fabric headband and I have on bright red lipstick.  I’m also wearing a bracelet made of pastel-colored skulls.  I am wearing white socks that go to about the middle of my calves, and black mary jane shoes.  As always, I am wearing my round, black glasses.  I forgot to wear earrings.]

12. New to goth!  Create a gothic or nu goth outfit.
According to Google, nu goth is basically being a goth hipster?  And a lot of people disapprove of it?  Yeah so here’s that.

[One image of a young woman (me) with short, dark purple hair, leaning against a stucco-ish wall.  I am wearing a dark grey T-shirt with a silver-and-gold owl on it.  The owl has orange eyes and is wearing headphones.  The shirt is tucked into a pair of high-waisted black shorts.  Under the shorts I am wearing a pair of tights made up of various different lacy textures.  I have on silver earrings that look like oak leaves and a long silver necklace with a pendant that looks like a ribcage.  I also have on black, lace-up oxford shoes.  As always, I am wearing my round, black glasses.]

11. Fairly fairy!  Create a Fairy Kei inspired outfit.
I definitely had to do some research for this one, and I’m not sure that I really got it right.  I don’t own any short petticoats, but I think the outfit would be a lot better if I’d had a fluffy pink one peeking out from under my skirt.  And I think I need some more accessories?

[One image of a young woman (me) with short, dark purple hair listening to an iPod and standing in front of various plants.  I am wearing a baseball tee—the body is white and the sleeves are mint green.  The white part is printed with the words “Star Wars” and has a bunch of Star Wars characters in action poses under it.  I’m also wearing a full skirt with a blue-and-white gingham print on it.  For accessories, I’ve got on mint-colored bow earrings and a bracelet made up of pastel-colored skulls.  I am also wearing scrunched-down pink socks and black mary-jane shoes.  As always, I have on my round, black glasses.]

10. Punk rock!  Create a punk inspired outfit.
(That’s my punk face.)
Sorry for the mini-hiatus!  I haven’t been wearing anything interesting because I’ve been getting ready to move for college.  I also thought I’d gotten my good camera back, but something has gone really wrong with the autofocus and I don’t really know how to work the manual focus (yet).  So back to the crappy camera I go!

[One image of a scowling young woman (me) with short, dark purple hair standing in front of some assorted plants.  I am wearing a simple white T-shirt under a black vest.  The vest has two large patches on the front, edged in red and covered in silver rings.  There are epaulettes on the shoulders of the vest, and it is zipped about halfway up.  I’m also wearing a red plaid skirt that goes to about the middle of my thighs and has an exposed zipper down the front.  I have on white socks and my black, lace-up oxford shoes.  As always, I am wearing my round, black glasses.]

Oops!  I’m taking another break from the 30-day challenge because today’s theme at the library was superheroes.  Also, the next prompt is a punk outfit and I didn’t want to scare the younglings.
Sorry about the quality of this photo!  I’m using a crappy camera right now.

[One image of a young woman (me) with short, purple-blue hair, standing in the Wonder Woman pose.  I am wearing a black shirt that has explosions and words like “ZAP!!” and “KA-POW-!!!” written on it in yellow, red, and blue.  I’m wearing the shirt over a tiered silver dress, but since none of it shows under the shirt, it looks like a skirt.  The shirt and dress are belted at the waist with a wide, red belt.  I am wearing silver quote mark earrings, bright red lipstick, black socks, and black lace-up oxford shoes.  I also have on a necklace that is a piece of light green sea glass encased in silver wires.  As always, I am wearing my round, black glasses.]

9. Pastel baby!  Create a pastel goth inspired outfit.
Wooowww all I have to say right now is that I desperately need to cut my bangs.  I’m gonna go do that as soon as I finish typing up this post.

[One image of a young woman (me) with short, purple-and-blue hair standing in front of a wooden bench and some bushes.  I am wearing a light pink sleeveless button-down with a scarf tied in a bow at the collar.  The scarf is white with black polka dots on it.  My blouse is tucked into a black, A-line skirt.  Under the skirt, I am wearing black-and-sheer striped thigh-high socks.  (They look like tights, though, since the tops are under the skirt.)  I have on light grey-blue lipstick, cameo earrings, and black mary jane shoes.  As always, I am wearing my round, black glasses.]

earthgoth replied to your post: 8. Wigging out!  Use a wig in yo…

oh my god this is SUCH a good look for you

Well then, good thing I’m gonna dye my hair red sometime soon! ;)

I can't get over this blog. You and your outfits are so perfect, I love them all :D
stars-have-the-right-idea

Augh thank you thank you thank you!!!

8. Wigging out!  Use a wig in your daily outfit; if you don’t own a wig, create a big hairstyle as the center of your outfit.
Well luckily for this prompt, I am a cosplayer and I own a LOT of wigs.  Weirdly enough, almost all of them are the same style.  I decided to go with this wig because I’m hoping to dye my hair auburn in a while.  I have so many different colors I want to try!  That one’s next on the list because if I go for a somewhat purple-toned auburn, it’ll hopefully cover up any bits of blue left in my hair.
I’m glad this prompt fell on the day it did, because I was having an awful hair day and I didn’t have enough spoons to fix it!

[One image of a young woman (me) wearing an orange-red bob wig with bangs while standing in front of assorted plants.  I am wearing a white tank top with a black-and-white picture of a forest on it.  The words, “not all those who wander are lost” are written on top of the picture.  The shirt is tucked into a dark denim pencil skirt.  I am wearing ankle socks with a graphic print of pills on them and black, lace-up oxford shoes.  I am wearing dark red lipstick and my round, black glasses.]

What am I doing with my pose here???  We just don’t know.  This isn’t a themed outfit, it’s just a rather boring ensemble I wore for work.  The next one in the 30-day challenge is wearing a wig and I didn’t want to confuse the small children.  I’m going traveling this weekend (this post is queued, most of mine are) and so if I get any outfit photos they’re not gonna fit the 30 day challenge either.  Oh well!

[One image of a young woman (me) with short, blue-purple hair standing in front of a variety of plants.  I am wearing a T-shirt printed mostly with very small orange text.  On the front, some white parts and some parts with text in red and green make up the iconic “little Cosette” drawing that’s the logo for Les Miserables.  The shirt is tucked into a pair of high-waisted black shorts that are belted with a thick, black belt.  I am wearing fake pearl drop earrings, white ankle socks, and black, lace-up oxford shoes.  As always, I have on my round, black glasses.]
